Hamsters CAN catch things like colds from a human. I don't know that they wuld contact Chicken Pox, but I would limit your contact with them while you have it. Don't touch their food, or water bottle, or touch them, just to be on the safe side.

No they will not suffer. Chicken pox is a human disease. Look out for other diseases tho. My hamster just got wet tail. Most hamsters die from this. I took mine to the vet right away and it has been a week since and he is still alive and doing really well. Make sure u look up about your hamster and find out any information you can.

Chicken pox sitting next to them? Are they little scabs running around? Are they wild chicken pox? Cause if they're wild, you could be in trouble.

No they have different DNA from us, so they can't catch our germs. But be careful when handling them, be sure to wash your hands and wherever they walked on you well, they leave little trails of pee when they walk -- mice to too -- it's just their way.
