First Try reducing contrast and brigtness if that does not work
Try using a Antiglare filter, Even this does not work

Please do consult a doc, i've seen many people with same problem which resolved after using above or shifting to a TFT Screen instead of CRT Moniter.

You should consult with an eye doc and see whats going on. You obviously have some issue with reading computer screens and you should talk with an optometrist or whatever to see whats up..

Do you need glasses?
If you eyes are aching after Reading watchingTV,, etc your probably need glasses. Or your only need them when reading, surfing etc. Try talking to a optician (eye doctor!)

My eyes are hurting from surfing the net too. Mind you, I am suffering from quite a impressive hangover.

If you can adjust the brightness setting on your screen, try turning it down, or brightining the room. I have had sore eyes because of light imbalance between the brightness of the screen and the room.

Although not associated with long-term consequences, eyestrain resulting from computer use can be bothersome and uncomfortable — and may cut your work short. Minimize computer-related eyestrain by following these tips.
