Like all psychological 'nature versus nurture' questions that relate to behavioural matters, the only possible answer is "a bit of both". I assume you are wondering whether "evil" is in the genes, or if it is created by certain life experiences or teaching. Given that "evil" is a social construct and has no objective, shared meaning across cultures, it is clear that nurture must play a significant part in the development of "evil" within a society - each society will label certain behaviours "evil" and some members will, as a result of their upbringing and experiences, display these behaviours (either by choice or some kind of compulsion). Perhaps we are born with a behavioural predisposition, but I would presume that, as with most behaviour, our tendencies can be either reinforced or inhibited by breeding.

Evil is Live backwards

Now come on everybody knows that true evil is acheived by stroking a white cat on your lap. It isnt born it isnt bred, however it can be harvested in the form of SWEETCORN

Now that is one evil vegeatable and I am not ashamed to say that if I were to see sweetcorn in the street I would stab it there and then

How on earth a nice pleasant and generally well behaved foodstuff like tuna ever became associated with it I will never know. There is going to be trouble there later let me tell you

So not born not bred harvested

Hope this helps

Its bred mostly, but some people can be born into this world with chemical imbalance in the brain and not be realised until they are in their teens. there was a case on the TV about 2 yrs ago this young man came from a very loving family but he would be really evil nasty to his younger sister and she was really terrified of him, though at the same time loved him as well ,as she said ,he is my brother anyway the boys mum took him to the docs and eventually they found he had a rare chemical imbalance in his brain ,so they gave the young boy the correct medication and they showed the boy sitting with his sister and he came across like a little angelic angel it was an incredible transformation of the boys character..i was shocked at what i had seen on the TV

Evil is bred in the environment. There may be some genetic issues that could enhance evil but actions are mind over matter anyway. If a human is taught and raised that being evil is acceptable, then they will be evil.

I think evil is bred. Babies are born with an empty slate...it is what we put onto the slate that makes them who they are. Maybe the mother leaves the baby crying for too long....and the baby learns to not trust people...and who knows. I know we get a lot of who we are genetically, but I don't think t is bred in us inherently to be evil.

Certain mental disorders that could be considered "evil" from how they manifest themselves in the personality and actions of a person are both.

Can you imagine Saddam Hussein's sons turning out any other way than they did? I can't... They had no chance at a decent life.
Sociopath's have strong influences on everyone around them and it does show effects on a cellular level. In some cases (as in the case of homosexuality) The brain stem of a sociopath is actually larger. (not that I am saying that one has anything to do with the other, I am not. and it doesn't but we can't help but wonder about all of the things that make us "different" and how early and deeply they actually do effect our lives.

Great question, bad word... Not everything is as simple or easy as "Evil."

Sometimes a persons dna can be the cause of 'evil' . People slight learning difficulties can become frustrated at not being able to understand the world around them.In that case I would say it's born.
Other people are exposed to violence early on in their life, then its bred.

Evil is present in human beings from birth.

This is demonstrated by children behaving badly from a very young age, inspite of parents teaching them to be good. After all no good parent teaches a child to be terrible and yet we brand the age of two as "the terrible twos". This refers to the pandemic naughty behaviour of a child at this age.

The measure of our evil's manifestation is down to the nurture we receive, but not always. No matter how much you nuture some individuals in the way that is right, they will still submit to their evil desires and carry them through to their end.
