Let's see...
Assuming that gas costs 2.80 $ a gallon, then by driving, it would go : (2.80 x 625) / 27= 1750/ 27 = 64.81$ for the gas, but assuming that you would earn 18 an hour for 8.5 hours, then you would have earned 153 $ while you were driving. 64.81 + 153= 217.81. Plane ticket costs 230 and driving costs 64.81 plus the 153 $ you would earn, so i think driving is more cost effective.

You would prolly need to fill up at least twice before you get there, now depending on the size of your gas tank..i am guess a 30 gallon tank that would run you like 84dollars to fill up once and 168 to fill up twice which is only one way..to go there and back it is around 336..so it would be more cost wise to fly since it is only 230 round trip

I say fly, although I do not fly. If you figure in what your time is worth, flying is the best option. But then again are you being paid for mileage? How much if you are? But then you have to look at the condition of your car, and figure in servicing it and wear and tare. And do you get transportation when you get there if you fly or do you have to pay out of pocket. I guess more info is needed.

At 27 MPG, your car will consume 23.14 gallons to get there.
At 2.80 per gallon it'll cost you 64.79 dollars in gas money.
In lost work money it'll cost you 180 dollars.
Gas money + Lost work money = 64.79 + 180 = 244.79 dollars
Plane ticket cost = 230 dollars
If you fly you'll save 14.79 dollars.
But you'll have no car in Chicago.
