President bush and Africa?

President bush keeps braging about how bad saddam treated his people but in sudan and in ethiopia thier leaders are doing the same. they kill minorties but still bush does not invade thier country. my theory is that africa has no benefit to the US what so ever but Iraq and the middle-east do because of OIL!! how selfish is he?! what do you guys think?

Pay attention, bro - he's talking about BUSH and Africa, not America and Africa. You yourself pointed it out - America did a lot for Africa in the 90's, but not now that Bush is in charge.

While oil may be a factor, the U.S. has publicly said that the reason for the invasion was due to the threat created by Saddam Hussein, possible WMDs, and many violations of UN regulations. If this were true or not doesn't matter, the U.S. provided some kind of reasoning for going to war which at the time was enough to include support from many other nations who offered support for the war and many countries still have troops in Iraq, in support of the war. If the U.S. just attacked random nations for human rights violations, the U.S. would become such a terror that the rest of the world would not accept it.

I think you would be saying the same thing if we went into those countries, except you would be saying it about Iraq and complaining that there was no reason to go into the African countries.

Why is Bush always considered selfish, i mean look at the picture. Why would Bush (who has plenty of money) care about what oil prices are? To me it seems like he is doing it for the Iraqi people and not oil. Unless you want to say he is doing it for oil, and thus the American people.

The US has pledged and donated 4 times more aid to Africa than ALL nations of the world combined.

Because Bush thinks that Saddam has potential weapons that could eventually threaten the USA.. and Sudan and Ethiopia countries do not. (the other reason could be oil)
