As far as we know once. However, there is some that believe that it was a hoax and the whole moon scene was shot in a studio. I don't personally believe this, but I have heard it said.

There were 6 Apollo missions that landed on the Moon. 3 men on each mission, and 2 that walked on the Moon during each of those while the other stayed in the orbiter.
The first was Apollo 11 with Mike Collins, Neil Armstrong, and Buzz Aldrin in 1969.
Other than that, many probes and satellites have passed by the Moon or orbited or landed there over the years.

Neil Armstrong and Edwin Aldrin spent a total of 21 hours on the Moon, two-and-a-half of them outside the landing module.
After re-joining the Columbia mothership the astronauts - including Collins - left the Moon's orbit on 22 July and returned to Earth on 24 July.
The three men spent the next 21 days in quarantine at an American military base - a procedure dropped in subsequent missions since no alien organisms were found.
The Moon landing marked the pinnacle of the space race and American investment in the space programme declined accordingly.
A further 10 astronauts travelled to the Moon in another six missions with the final manned lunar landing, Apollo 17, completed in December 1972.

10 Apollo missions went to the moon. 6 had manned landings.
So, 30 (actually 26, 4 went twice) people went to the moon, 12 have walked on the moon. This includes one golfer (Alan Sheppard).
