no, I think we get to a point to where we want to trust the person. Sometimes we trust when we know we shouldn't.

I don't agree. Laziness to be suspicious would be the last reason for trusting somebody. This is such a funny question, indeed. Positive as I am, I wouldn't say that the easiest thing ever to do is to just trust the basic goodness in people. If you are to trust smb, better think about their motives - it can't be very tiring really, and you don't necessarily need to be suspicious - just reasonable.

I instinctively trust people I meet but I am prepared to alter that view within seconds or minutes depending on what happens.

I want to trust everyone and I try to start from that position.

I try very hard to trust people, give them the benefit of the doubt until I feel otherwise, and then there are some people I pursue; something in me tells me they are someone who could tickle my mind with intellect or laughter...

Trust isn't a decision, it's a feeling. It takes less energy to avoid those you don't trust, than it does to try to ignore the feeling of mistrust.

no, its not like that. i think everyone is given the chance to be trusted, its just up to that person how to use that trust you gave them.. remember, its not nice to always be suspicious (as used in your question..) about people.
