a website basically for brides on a budget. I really feel like I have so much more to offer than all the other wedding magazines who only give you limited amounts of ideas to save their business!!

But the idea is to create this fab, modern website full of websites, ideas, ettiquette - EVERYTHING! The idea is to approach companies in the wedding industry to sponsor me...

Any ideas on how to go about this!?

Help much appreciated. Thanks!

I think you might have something here.
First I would think of a name and go down to city hall and get a name filed 'operating as' fictitious name.
If you can create a good enough business plan, you can get a gov't grant or loan for the capital you need.
If you don't want to go that rout, you could try and get the capital another way. Think of a domain name, i.e. www.bridesonabudget.com and buy it on www.domain.com or some other place, yahoo provides domain searches.
Get with some computer geek who knows how to build websites and make a deal. You can work right out of your home or where ever you are.
As far as approaching other businesses, make sure you're not trying to provide the same thing they are. If you want to showcase them on your website, you'll have to solicite advertisement, most are glad to do it since they have a budget just for that. In addition to your business plan, have a brochure that explains what you or your company does.
Good luck!!

Yeah, that could be a good idea,

The first thing you want to do is write a good business plan. During that process, you will have to study the competition, devise the web design, estimate a budget.
The solidity pof the business plan as well as the viability of the idea (result of the analysis) will determine the response by sponsors (bank or grants or shops)

make sure you have a very sound idea of what you want to achieve - make a story board showing how you would like to see your web site.

I have an idea that I want to market. At the moment I am busy collating loads of information that I will use and making a prototype that I can test and use.

Once this is done I plan to speak to my local university (their business department) and see if any students can help me.

With your idea, you may want to speak to local bridal shops to find out what they offer and if they would be interested in free advertisement on your web page.

Good luck
