The mushrooms in mom's yard are not domed at all, or flat and round like a disk at the top as some are. These are white and round, like golf balls. The dog tries to eat them so I wondered what they were and if they are poisonous?

I have these mushrooms in my yard also. The only one similar to it was called a Puffball mushroom. There are look alikes so I would be careful. Dont let animals eat them. Look up mushroom and you should find pictures under (Calvatia). Good Luck.........

If they are in your yard. They are poisonous. General rule of thumb.

Take some to your county agent.They should know what kind they are.
