I agree with the previous poster. This sounds like a case of Stockholm syndrome.

Stockholm Syndrome is the way our minds cope with a serious trauma that involves being held captive. It's really a way to survive. Think about how much you changed between the ages of 10 and 18. Think about how easy it would be to manipulate a child. I hope the poor girl gets some help. She doesn't even want to see her parents.

properly, even even with the undeniable fact that you're an adult now - a 25 year previous guy has experienced so a lot extra in existence than you've. i trust some age gaps do not actual remember, yet 7 years distinction once you're in ordinary words became into an adult is an excellent type of time that you have not experienced. you're spending this time to be in a position to help your self, or nevertheless in preparation. he's previous all that, experienced things you have not started to journey! i became interior a similar sitation kinda, even with the undeniable fact that the dude became 27 even as i became your age. Age gaps at your age DO remember!

It is called Stockholm syndrome - the victim falls in love/starts to care for their attacker (See the James Bond movies with Pierce Brosnan). You have to remember that this man cared for her in his own sick way for 8 years. He was the only person in her life that took care of her, fed her etc. - It is not as uncommon as you would think! Read up on it and you will see. I think the statistic is 78% of people that start to have this emotions for their abductor, but I stand to be corrected.

She has a case of Stockholm Syndrome. This is when the captive begins to form an emotional bond with their captor. After 8 years seeing no one but him, I am quite sure she is suffering of this quite severely.

maybe because she got attached to her kidnapper. after all she lived with him for 8 years. and the reason why she doesnt want to meet her parents will mostly be that she doesnt know wat to expect . she lived with one guy for 8 years and then 1 fine day she comes to know that hes dead and that her parents want her back. maybe after she escaped from the kidnapper, she realized how attached she was to him but by then it was too late

SHE HAD BECOME ATTACHED TO THE PERSON, SO OBVIOUSLY THE LOSS HURT HER.
DID NOT WANT TO MEET HER PARENTS - PROBABLY SHE NEEDS MORE TIME TO COME TO GRIPS WITH REALITY & ALSO, SHE MAY HAVE HARBOURED A FEELING THAT WHEN SHE WAS SNATCHED 8 YRS AGO, HER PARENTS DID NOT DO ANYTHIING TO LOCATE & RESCUE HER. THE SPITE MIGHT HAVE BUILT UP OVER THE YEARS INTO RESENTMENT & HENCE THIS BEHAVIOUR.

She is emotionally attached with her abductor. He is the one who cared for her for 8 years. I believed there are moments that she is happy with him and used to the situation. And as the years go by, she felt in love with him behind the facts that he abducted her. The kidnapper didn't rape her the day after the abduction unlike what happened to Jaycee duggard. The kidnapper purposed is different. He wanted to raise the girl and might be fall in love with him? I don't know. Her parents are divorced and she might not have a good relationship in any of them before her disappearance or she is shy... I am not sure.. Just thinking. She cried after learning that he died because she might realize that he is the only person that understands her and care for her.
