There are many people who confess to crimes they did not commit for many different reasons. An independent judge and Criminal investigators for the court that reviewed the case stated that the preponderance of evidence pointed to an intruder. There is also the DNA evidence on her underwear and under her fingernails that does not match the families DNA. The fact that only a few weeks later a child in Jon Bennet's dance class was attacked in her bedroom, late at night, just as was Jon Benet, but was run off by the mother that fortunately woke in time, leads one to believe that there may be a connection there

The man that was arrested is sick. As for who did it, I think it was someone involved with the Ramseys and for whatever reason, they covered it up. I do not think it was either of the parents, however.
Dr. Cyril Wecht of Pittsburgh, one of the foremost medical examiners in the U.S. says we will never know for sure because the evidence points to someone within the household or immediate circle and they're not talking.

He probably has some mental health issues. So, in his mind he imaged that he did it but in reality he didn't.
Personally when I herd that his ex-wife said that it was impossible because he was with her around the time the murders took place. That was a red flag to me. Somethings not right upstairs.

I should imagine someone in power or someone very important because that is why they are "covering it up" and/or taking their "time" with the investigation.
Why would someone like this break into someones house and do such a thing? Well come on, you dont think junior beauty pageants attract the saints of society do you? And it doesnt take much to follow somones car home....

The world may never know. He confessed because he is sick. He should be locked up just for lying about it. They should charge him with false reporting or interfering with an investigation.
