A tampon is a plug of cotton or other absorbent material inserted into a body cavity or wound to absorb fluid. The most common type in daily use (and the topic of the remainder of this article) is a usually disposable plug that is designed to be inserted into a woman's vagina during her menstrual period to absorb the flow of blood.
In the United States, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulates tampons as medical devices.
A sanitary towel, sanitary pad (UK), sanitary napkin, Maxi pad (U.S.), menstrual pad or pad is an absorbent item worn by a woman while she is menstruating, recovering from vaginal surgery, for Lochia (Post birth bleeding) or any other situation where it is necessary to absorb the flow of blood from the vagina.
These pads are not to be confused with incontinence pads, which are worn by men or women who have bladder control problems or experience stress incontinence. Incontinence pads are a similar item to a menstrual pad, perhaps with a high absorbency. Menstrual pads may be used by some people for this purpose.

When a female reaches a certain age she bleeds out of her vagina. To stop the bleeding she uses a tampon. A tampon is basically a plug up pad to absorb the bleeding. When the tampon has asorbed to much blood the chick simply removes it and then inserts another untill the end of her cycle.

If you are not a woman, don't worry about it. It is just for a woman when she is on her period. It soaks up fluid from a period.
