Typically, real estate attorney's handle the negotiation and drafting of real estate purchase/sale contracts and attend closing. It would be unlikely that a strict real estate attorney would be going to court.

Absolutely nothing ! Their just part of the sucking business of Real Estate process. Another handout on the table. A person which can read the documents to you. You know like a preacher.

Well, being property law specialists they would obviously advise and act on behalf of their clients on all aspects of their business that relates to land. For example, conveyancing, tenancy agreements, planning permissions, building regulations and so on.

Being (mainly) a non-contentious legal field, they would not appear in court as much as; for example, an attorney who specialises in a contentious field such as personal injury litigation.
