There can be no more war if people refuse to fight in them, or to be manipulated to take up arms.

Yes, but not a good reason to continue war the the loss of innocent life. It must stop. If all choose no more war; then there will be no more war.

That's too ideal, though. Some people believe that the wars that have been fought or are currently being fought are completely legit, while others disagree. You will always have people who are willing to fight in the name of someone who won't because they share similar beliefs, and leaders will always find ways to rally support: staged disaster, propaganda, promises of great change.

There are too many varying religious and political ideologies for the world to live in peace, because everyone seems to think they are right and want to force others to conform. I guess the answer to your question is "when people can afford to stop being elitist assholes and maybe admit that their way isn't for everyone." But again, that's never going to happen.

"if people refuse to fight in them"? How long have you lived on this earth? I suppose all wars will end when Muslims embrace Christians and Jews without stabbing them in the back, there are no more tyrants or dictators, one country is not envious of another country, we all look & think alike, no country is more powerful than another, or ONE country rules the world, etc., and blah blah. When is this ever going to happen?

I've been wondering that myself - me and many others over the years. A friend and I were discussing if prayer works. She said she believes it does. I said I'm no longer sure because if it did why are we still killing each other in the name of god? But I think we need to continue to say "no more war" and maybe if enough of us do that and mean it, then we will turn our minds, hearts and hands to doing good.

Unfortunately, this saying is true.

"To keep the peace, you must prepare for War"

It is human nature for us to dedtroy one another. We do not like it, but it is true. In order for us to preserve our peace, we must be ready for war. There will always be one leader that want's more. One leader that does not like someone else. With a formidable force to defend ones nation or attack in retaliation, it is a deturant for others to outrigh attack us.

Unfortunately, we fight agains an invisible enemy. They claim no country and believe only in their religion. These fanatics are every bit as dangerous as an army and need to be warded. The problem is doing it.

Intentionally people say NOW but you know it will never happen. Too many industries, cultural, historical, economical and political interests are involved to stop war. Just imagine US weapons industry stops tomorrow ... people out of jobs, etc. United Nations and NATO become redundant. Can you imagine the impact?

They did, after ww2. And they did once before, also. They created a world governing body to promote peace all over the world... The UN.
But, it seems that the Americans are abandoning the UN, and going back to the days when we didn't have it.

The meek will soon cease to cumber the earth. They will fertilize it.
Throughout human history men have been fighting over something. I think greed and stupidity have a lot to do with it.
For evil to triumph, it is only necessary for good people to do nothing.

That may never happen.
There will be no more conflict if it was already too late.
..man is no more existing...
