Depends which aspect of geology. Areas like geophysics and engineering geology will need maths, and you'll need to be fairly confident in maths in order to do well. There are some areas of geology where you could have a career with limited maths knowledge. Best bet is talk to the college/uni where you're going to study geology and get some more information on the different areas.

Depends whether you want a career as a Geophysicist, Geologist or Geotechnical Engineer.
They are all sciences and as such require maths for admission to further study. A mere pass is sufficient in all but Geotechnical Engineering - which is maths heavy (You need an Engineering degree).
You will find that once you begin a course, true Engineers and non-theoretical scientist find maths a doddle. This is because it applies directly to what they want to do.
eg.
Ask me what 49x8 or 54/6 is and I need a pen and paper.
Ask me how much lateral stress a 152x89x5 RSJ can withstand if supported in 2 of 3 planes and I can do a 2 min calc. for the Checking Engineer.

do you know what geology is? Im sorry to seem rude but if you knew about it you would not need to ask this question and I find it odd that a person who plans on moving their career to be something else has no clue on what that something else is. I suggest you do a little research on this branch of science first. It doesnt require any hard math nor any math at all really.

i have a m8, who did geology up to phd level
you do need math, you atleast need to be passing math
mostly for geology, all you would need to be able to do, is understand afew formulas, and punch in the numbers, but as one guy said, if you plan on doing much more than looking at rocks, prepare for alot of math..

Geology is the study of the earth. Like stones, rock formations, etc. It should not require any math at all.
