In liquid or powder form, for washing cloths that will not harm a septic tank?

I am not sure. But I have seen that soft drinks (corbonated)are good toilet cleaner and rust remover

Only use liquid for septic tank....We have one and its all I use and never any problem....Make sure you had bacteria causing things to your septic every now and then...Packages of yeast its better than RidX...rotten hamburger meat is really good for it, but I have never had any to add to it....
Its better to not use anything with bleach in it to clean with, but I do, just make sure you add more bacteria to septic. I use differents kinds of laundry soap but I always liquid

The only thing that would "harm" your septic tank is aggressive chemicals that kill anaerobic bacteria, such as -
- bleach (oxy- or chlorine based)
- paint stripper and -thinner
- Acid (especially HCl and H2SO4)
Most regular washing powders (or liquids) are therefore OK (read their labels).
You can also counteract possible loss of beneficial bacteria by frequently adding products like "Septabs" into your toilet when flushing.

The AMWAY laundry detergent is supposed to be safe for septic systems.

Use ridex it works wonders in the septic tank.

just don't use any thing with activities.....septic need all the bactiera it can get
