in early years of indian independance kerosene was sold by government agencies as u know how upright n uncorrupt govnment people are, leaders decided to mix a colour so that when it is mixed with another substance so that the consumer can cme to know that it is a adulterated product now a days it stands for the kerosene obtained from the govnment supply there is also white kerosene which is colourless

To Stop the subsidised kerosene provided by rationshop which is meant for domestic consumption by the poor being used for commercial purpose...
When you see blue coloured kerosene you can know easily that it is provided by the rationshop...That is highly subsidised by the Goverment....And
commercial use of it is illegal........
