A year ago, during Katrina, a colleague mentioned finding an article of a white couple with food who were alluded to as having "found" food while another picture of a black couple with food were said to have "looted" food. I would need this for my research work on racism. If you can locate this it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

These people of all races were looting everything! Like 100 pair of Nike shoes, beer, TV's, things that weren't needed. And other places, the stores themselves told people to come inside and get exactly what they wanted because it was going to all be written off as a loss anyway. I'm sure you can find stories on both races; and remember that N.O. was predominitely a black community; or as Mr. Negin likes to call it 'chocolate city'...godblessyaanyway!

I wouldn't use this one episode to prove or disprove racism during Katrina. A picture can & will be 'doctored' these days. There is a picture of President Bush reading a book upside down to students in Florida, no one bothers to ask themselves how anyone can read a book upside down! There also is a picture of President Clinton showing school children photos in a Play Boy magazine. Would you use these as "proof" of something also?
