There is a monkey paw knot that is used to keep keys on and other things like a knife. A sailor would not tie a rope to his body. In cases of overnighting on the ocean a sailor may use a tether to keep himself attached to the ship, or in very rough weather, but it is not a rope.

I see two problems with the question (most likely I am just dumb).
There are no ropes on a sailing vessel, and no one would ever be ties to a monkey. That was the area that a cannons next round was placed during a battle at sea...Jim

There's a knot called a "Monkey Fist" that is used as a weight on a heaving line in order to fling a line from one vessel to another. Only if you're suicidal would you attach any line that's going between one vessel and another to any part of your body.
