yeah, I've heard that New York has had high temperatures. Just in California (which I think it's the hottest state in the USA) the temperatures surely have reached the degrees you mentioned, because I lived close to that state and it's really hot.

Just curious, what do you mean by "america": the USA or the whole continent? I live in Mexico, and I live in a city where the temperature has reached 120 degrees almost every summer. Everyday it overreaches the 107 or 110. But, you end up getting used to it... well, not really, but you learn how to deal with it.

Well, God bless you!

Yes. It is true.

There are a lot of places in the Western US that have record high temperatures which are above 120 degrees, but Death Valley, in California, regularly has at least a couple of days that are that temperature or higher during the summers.

I don't remember all the specifics. The weatherman on our local news talked about it earlier in the summer when we were having a heat wave. He explained that there is something special about the geology and geography of Death Valley that allows it to get that hot there. I remember he also said that the high temperature record for the Western Hemisphere was set there.

But yep, it's true! And I can testify that there are few things less pleasant than driving through there in the middle of summer. It's like the antechamber of hell :)

When I was 8 1/2 months pregnant in 1988, it was 123 degrees fahrenheit for 3 days in a row! At the time, they were working on the pipes where we lived so that we had no running tap water. With the heat of the weather and the pregnancy, my husband (now ex) waited 3 days and then took me to a hotel that was air conditioned and had running water so that he could get a shower for his job the next day. What a relief it was for me because I thought I was going to die! That was in Pennsylvania, by the way.

I am originally from central California, and it is between 115 and 120 degrees during summer.

You get used to it, especially if you've grown up with it, our houses all come with air conditioning and a lot of homes have pools, so there are ways with beating the heat if your blood is a bit more thick.

Have you heard of LAS VEGAS!!!

Actually I don't know about LAS VEGAS, but obviously you have never been to southern Arizona or many parts of California - particularly Death Valley.

Even in north Louisiana, where I am from, I have seen it get to 108 with extremely high humidity.

AAAAAAAAAAGGGGHHH !!!!!!

Go to www.weather.com and look at the weather for Phoenix, and then look at the averages, and then look at the little blurb about highest and lowest temps on record. I am sure it will be over 120.
