First, it's not what you know, it's who you know.

The reality of a real career, find somebody which you would like to become. Than find an approach to talk to them and ask questions how they got to be in that position. Also, develop a niche about finding and hanging out with this crowd. Usually, they recommend you to somebody which recommends you to somebody else. This will also give you a more indepth insights about the job levels and salaries too. Question: Who would you best hire, a friend or just any Joe/Jane off the street ! A resume is just surface or a photo.

Ever considered an MBA?

Since you have good work experience, you should consider enrolling yourself in one. You can try for an online or correspondence MBA. There are many universities in India and abroad which offer good courses.

Work Exp+MBA = Good opportunities in big companies.
