glycolysis occurs in both aerobic and anaerobic respirations. in this the glucose molecule breaks up into pyruvic acid.there is no energy input but output is 6 ATP. it requires different enzymes to perform in the cytoplasm of the cell.

The splitting of glucose molecule is glycolysis.The energy required is solar energy. A molecule of glucose get split up into two molecules of pyruvic acid.
