People will say, "then you haven't got the right job etc.", but that's not entirely true; whatever job you may do, as glorious as it may be (sarcasm), it still becomes dreadfully monotonous and a routine. I adore tennis for example, but if I played tennis 9 hours a day for the rest of my life, I would surely get sick and tierd with it! The same analogy applies in this instance. I once read a famous chinese proverb: "He who says he likes work, hasn't worked a day in his life". I think that's very well put. Besides, does it really make sense that nearly 1/2 of your life is spent caged in an artificial environment. Work is a form of slavery, the only diference is, you get paid for it! What's more, no - you don't have choices, if you chose not to work, you will starve and be homeless. So it's a choice between A and B!

Maybe you have Attention Deficit Disorder. It's been shown that those with this have a much more difficult time finding satisfacition with one job.

On the other hand, maybe you haven't found your proper calling. Take a vocational aptitude test. Keep trying. You'll find your niche.

Seems you are rather articulate. Have you thought of becoming a journalist, either in print or on audio format? I'm impressed that you have for the most part a mastery of the English language. Remember, Chinese is with a capital "C."

I do contract work now; so each job is different. I chose to work this way for exactly the same reason as you state. I did not like the boring, every day, same day routine. You can make that choice too.

Perhaps the challenge is gone from your work. Perhaps it is time for you to begin to keep an eye open for another opportunity. Perhaps it is time to be a bit more practical and accept that a job's purpose is not necessarily to entertain us, but to provide a lifestyle. A person who is truly blessed has the job they truly love. I was blessed to have from age 26 to 65 the job that everyday I was excited to get up for. Now that I am retired I am beginning to feel like life sucks! I thought many times during my career I was working for retirement how wrong I was.

I think without doing any work merely sitting home is the boring one. otherwise all works are pleasant if you really do with full committment. "work is worship" tamil proverb says. it gives money and life. so we cannot hate our working mind but if we that was not suitable we can choose an another.

man, you've really talked yourself into a corner! We're social animals. Everyone has an obligation to add in something, hopefully something roughly equivalent to what they take out. Is this so unreasonable? Some jobs are boring and you can't do much about it, other jobs you get out what you put in. Sorry to preach. Hate when people do that to me......

Sorry for siding with the masses, but you DO have the wrong job. I love my job and it's never boring.

Someone asked me one time...If you had unlimited money at your disposal, and all you had to do to access it is work 40 hrs a week at ANY job...what would you choose to do? Answer that question, and get that job.
