well my friend's mom is in the makeup business and works at Elizabeth Arden. What you need to do is hand in a resume about if you are either in school or about your recent jobs. you also need to act proper during the interview and you also have to dress approiate. MAC Cosmetics are very popular and are in high demand. you have to learn how to be quick and how do present an item so well that it will draw a guest into buying it. there is a uniform attire you must wear all black. black presents being serious and if you wear a nice black formal outfit to your interview the head of MAC will definently notice that. also you need to be on time to work. that is probably one of the most important things because a makeup company such as MAC is always busy and if you are needed and you are not there that could be a problem. other standards such as sercurity policy depends on which department store you work at or which MAC store you work at. My mom's friend works in Macy's and she told me that if you catch someone steeling you get a bonus in your paycheck!!
but what you need to know when working at any sales store is again how to sell it. if you are helpful with a guest then that definently mean that guest will buy something from you. you also get comision which mean you get part of the sale.

- You have to wear stylish clothes that must be black.
- Wear a full face of makeup everytime you work.
- Be willing to do many makeovers a day, sometimes all day.
- Be a good seller, it's not just about being a makeup artist anymore. You have to keep up your sales per hour, your items per transaction, and your average sale. (This is probably one of *the* most important things). They can and will fire people for not making their sales goals.
- They are not a commission line unless you work for MAC at Nordstrom. All other locations are a flat hourly pay.
- You don't need a cosmetology degree or anything like that to work in the US. MAC has hired people before with no cosmetic experience, but they may want some retail experience.
Hope this helps some!

First of all, there is usually an extremely long waiting list to even get hired at MAC. But, the first thing you need to do is fill out an application. If you get called in for an interview, you go for your initial sit down one on one interview. If you do well at that one, they bring you in for a second one in which you bring a model with you and you have to do that persons make-up. If they like your work, you will more than likely get hired. You definitely need to be knowledgeable about their products. So do your homework. Good Luck and I hope this helps.

I had them do mine until now and it grew to become out sturdy! She asked me what i wanted carried out and did it impressive- I baught the lip gloss and mascara and prefer it. They open new applications for each eye, lip, face application. in spite of the shown fact that i wanted my eyes smoking finding with a splash of maroon and mild-weight lips- so my eye make up became heavy, yet no longer drag finding in any respect!! aha! in case you pick to look somewhat extra suttle basically tell them- they are all rather sturdy ive been there some situations
