I think that it has something to do with the colour of the INSIDE of an olive. it is a coffee colour.
Olive skin just has a slightly darker pigmentation and tans a lot more easily, and darker than "white" skin....which isnt actually white either !!

they are descendants from the spanish that invaded these lands many 100 years ago. Their complexion resembles a bit the olive green.

b/c its not really tanned but in the middle of a tan... more of a tellowish kinda color i think its better than people tanning but just my opinion
