In the asian country of the east.
There was this one particular song, "Xiao Wei".
Simple score and music.
The whole asian country went wild.
On the roadside, you hear young children singing the song. The music industry began to fight for the right to "Air" the song. From China, taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia the song became big hits.
Then the next hit, "Mouse love rice."
It seems that asian country love simple music that are easy on the tongue.
Go on, google those two song I mention. You will be surprised.

Not necessarily, sometimes they are songs that people love to hate or hate to love. They are usually popular for so long that people get sick of them and the novelty wears off and the chances of your future success in the music arena is dead! You might make a lot of money out of it on the plus side though! Try having a gimmicky thing to go with it like that crazy frog - people hate him but he is everywhere and I bet hes made a load of money for the person that thought him up.
