Why is it that liberals become so defensive when someone expresses a different opinion than theirs?

So, why is it that liberals whine and complain and accuse and resort to name calling and personal attacks when someone with a brain stands up and expresses a different opinion, such as a dislike for most liberals?

And, how many minutes do you think it will take for enough of them to flag this question as abuse so that it is removed? Extra scooby snacks if you can predict the reason listed when I receive the violation email...

They never have a leg to stand on in an argument so they freak out. They will tell you all day how bad America is and how they hate George Bush but never give a reason. I hope they burn in hell for disgracing the institution of marriage and killing 30 million humans since Roe v Wade was enacted.

as a liberal I have to say that it seems to be a two way street. And you should look to your own thoughts. For instance, you do not want to hear an answer you just want to make a statement. Anyway, I understand the conservatives just want to make the world a better place just like us liberals do. We just want to go about it in completely different ways. You said "dislike for most liberals". Is this hatred coming from something other that political beliefs? You also said "defensive", this implies that someone must have been "offensive". That would be silly if a conservative behaved int that manner wouldn't it. So if your intention was to stir up a hornets nest, then I guess you got what you wanted.

Many people become defensive when confronted with a different point of view, especially if it is contrary to their own. I don't know what your beef is, but I wonder why you are grouping all liberals together in one huge group. Honestly, replace the world liberal with any other group, like "punk" or "jew" or "white anglo-saxon protestant male" or "women" and you'll see why I question the statement.

So.. maybe if you had actually expressed an opinion aside from "I don't like liberals because I said I don't like them and was then subjected to personal attacks," I would respond to the opinion. But as it is, there really is no opinion here and no argument to counter.

each so often i think of maximum adult adult males are sociopaths by using lady standards. The question is not liberal or conservative -- the question is extremity, on either side.

The extreme far right or left is populated by people of limited intellligence, limited emotional capacity, and very limited compassion. These folks tend to be extremely self-centered and, thus, interested in themselves above and beyond all else. Thus, only their opinions matter.

This enables them to burn down abortion clinics, fly airplanes into buildings, or burn a flag.

Save me from the extremists.
