I don't know why but the part in "The Cinderella Story" when Hilary Duff starts being humiliated in front of everyone and she starts crying and leaves and everyone is booing at her, and then she goes home and she cry's on her bad a little more and her evil step mother brings her an envelope from Princeton (the college she has been dreaming to go into and worked so hard to get in) and when she opens it it says "Rejected" and she puts herself down when really she did get in and her step mother wrote out another one saying she didn't! That's terrible! Oh yeah there is another movie 50 First Dates (SORRY IM NOT SAYING GONE WITH THE WIND, SAVING PRIVATE RYAN, GOSHH) and when Drew Barrymore starts crying when she watch's the video is terrible..In my opinion its not the saddest films but its definetly the saddest parts in the films.

'Papillion' with Steve McQueen. I can't remember why he gets locked up, but he stays in prison for the whole duration of the film until he is an old man. In his final jail, an island separated from the sea by high rocky cliffs, he eventually leaps in to the sea to start swimming for the horizon. So eventually he gets away...but only after being robbed of his life.

Green Mile, Fiddler on the Roof, Kramer vs Kramer, Ghost and the Darkness (Val Kilmer, not really sure of the title), The Piano, Lion King (I find it funny but sad at the same time), Sweet Home Alabama (I cried when Reese character visited the pet semetary) and a lot more.

I agree with only 1 persons answer punk rock girl's answer of Titanic. It's a true story 1500 people went into the frezzing cold water that night 6 were pulled out, and only one of the boats came back. And the fact that Rose is so sad about her life, and has a realationship with Jack and he dies holding her hand, and he saved her. Its just so sad, a real classic.

I don't see Schindlers List and Green Mile being so totally sad. They both are tributes to the good in Man.
But "Old Yeller," I was just a kid when I saw it about, a gazillion years ago, (a pretty tough kid, too) and I cried for about 10 days over that damn movie!
