i want to have a son? is there a technique that we can use?

we already have a four year old daughter and hopefully next year my husband want us to have another child, a son. what if it will still be a girl (though we welcome it with open arms). i want to have a boy this time. in my side of family there are more girls than boys. we want to settle for 2 kids so that we have time to raise them (financially & emotionally).

There sure is! You will want to have sex as close to ovulation as possible. XY (male) sperm swim faster than female sperm do, so if they have a chance to reach the egg first, voila! They're also smaller, which makes them faster. XX (female) sperm are larger and slower, but live longer. The girls can hang out in the fallopian tubes longer than the boys can because of their longer shelf life, so if you have sex prior to ovulation, the XY (male) sperm have less of a chance to make it to the egg first because there are less of them. This is the most "sure fire" way to create a baby boy. The second thing you can do is, have sex "doggy style" You want deep penetration to help the XYs get up as far as possible in your reproductive tract. "Doggy style" allows for very deep penetration.

If you use an ovulation predictor kit, you'll have an easier time determining when to have sex. It's also important to refrain from sex prior to ovulation ...because the girls will be there waiting (have a head start, so to speak)

there are various diets but they're not really proven to work and they can be very complicated to follow so I don't recommend that option.


to help nature a bit, you can remember that male sperm (spermatozoids carrying a Y chromosom) are a bit lighter while having the same engine (the tail). So, on average, they will reach the goal a bit faster. I am not making this up, it has been measured.

other experiments have shown that female sperm (spermatozoids carrying an X chromosom), while slower swimmers, live longer.

so you have to use a strategy that will favour, in your case, faster swimmers, with a shorter life span:

- deeper penetration means distance is shorter so the faster swimmers will be able to win the race while not risking to die before they've reached the target. Normally woman on the back with legs up and back means pretty deep penetration but there are other options. Remember, in best conditions the sperm cells will need about 1.5 hours to swim one inch, so if you save them an inch or two initially it is always good to take.

- do not "waste" intercourse too long before the ovulation. You can buy ovulation tests that will help you monitor your cycle. You want the sperm to already find the ovule in place when it gets there, but the ovule does not stay in place for very long, about 1-2 days. On the other hand, if you make the sperm wait, say, 3 days or more, mostly only female sperm will survive. So avoid intercourse from, say, from 6 days to 3 (2) days before the ovulation.

you see the female has two chromosomes, XX, while the male has XY. since x is more present, it is more likely to have girls...

i once heard that since the semen that contains the sperms and within it the chromosomes is base and the vagina's natural lubrication is acid... the y chromosome is more likely to perish and the x remains

I have seen this to work even though it is not proven. If you have very regular and often sex, you will have girls. If you have sex once or less per week, you will have boys. I think the lil guys need to build up strength to beat the lil girls in the big swim.
