a suit would be over the top, but a nice jacket and tie would be great, make sure she understands to dress up, you dont want to be more dressed up than her, make sure she looks better than you

DON'T wear a suit! It'll probably make her squirm! I'm 28 and I'll tell you what looks hot on a man.
Some nice slack, nice very shiny dress shoes and a darker colored long-sleeved suit shirt (whatever you call 'em) with a shiny solid colored tie that matches somehow. Like a dark, bright blue colored shirt and a shiny, bright silver tie.
Something like that. It's classy.
Or wear a white shirt (suit kind again) but short-sleeved and the top two buttons undone and.... it all depends on your personality.
If you're a suit kind of guy then wear a suit jacket over a regular cool dark colored shirt. People at stores can help you with what looks good together, or look through clothes magazines for ideas.
DON'T part your hair on the side! yuck! Short and spikey is way cute. :)

A suit could be a bit over the top, unless you are having afternoon tea at the savoy? If you have a plain dark suit, maybe us the jacket with a pair of smart jeans, shirt and smart shoes. This way you are looking smart, but not 'just from the office'. If you have cream/biscuit coloured trousers/jeans these would look great with a dark jacket (black or blue) shirt and shoes. Whatever you do, NO trainers, rips, t-shirts or scuffed shoes. A real impression will be made if you have good hair and nails. It might seem girly, but girls love neat and tidy nails!
Have a look at the dress code at the resturant, you don't want to get their to be told your are not dressed accordingly!
Goodluck!!

does this really nice restaurant require suit & tie ? this would be a big help if it's that kind of place definitely so, if you are sure she is going to really dress up any way, then i think a suit & tie would be very nice if you are trying to really impress her . after all if it were casual , you would be going to a movie , boat ride , walk in the park etc. i hope i've helped you & i do wish you the best . be sure & take some flowers for a vase also for her apt. etc.

Wear a T-shirts, and track suit, say to your girl you've changed your mind about the date lets go for a jog! nah just joking
as long as you dress neat , and tidy ,sure I think a shirt and trousers, but not anything uncomfortable, cuae you'll already be uncomfortable, so something nice and comfortable, and comfortable shoes, dont go over the top, you should concentrate on what you should say , how to act , behave with her , well as , a girl I would look into to that , anyway lets see how it goes for you mate, good luck

No suits, they are too ''try hard''.
It depends on the girl, we all like different styles, but she obviously liked you to say yes to a date.
Try something like.....
Smart jeans, a really good shirt, try Gieves and Hawkes or Paul Smith do nice ones, and shoes, brogue type loafers are in this season.
Just be yourself, if your first impression is a false one, this girl might fall for that not the real you.
Good luck and remember that we love to be lavished, pay the whole bill, don't dutch, have some flowers sent to the resaturant in advance and brought to your table, nothing too flash, something simple, a few white roses, pay her compliments, but not too many and don't presume anything will come from the date, we're pretty tricky creatures!! x
Let me know how it goes. x

NO please dont wear a suit!! If a date of mine turned up in a suit i would instantly think they were very anal!! Ask someone what color you suit and pick out a smart shirt and tie. Nice black trousers and clean shoes will be fine. You can always lose the tie later on. Just be yourself, remember she must like you to agree to go out wiht you and i BET she is stressing more than you about what to wear!! Enjoy xx

Wow, i didnt realise that men also have these issues.
I agree that you shouldnt wear a suit, but it definately has to be something smart.
Even a shirt with a jeans and dress jacket would look nice.
Dont wear trainers. Rather some shiny leather loafers with a matching belt around your trousers.

I think you should wear a nice shirt, not boring but not over the top, and trousers, maybe jeans as long as they aren't too casual, or just any other trousers you have. You could roll the sleeves up to your elbows for the extra manly look! Make sure your hair looks awesome too! Good luck, and as long as you be yourself shes gonna love you! xxx

Try and think what she will wear, and try to complement it. If she is a classy woman then a smart shirt (not one with loads of patterns just a plain shade) If she is the sort that most men want to bed but not marry then try to look sexy for her jeans white t-shirt or shirt this way when she thinks everyone is looking at her She will be not be embarrassed to be with you. Hope it goes well

Smart casual works for me, I also like the smell of nice cologne on my men, treat her nice, a bit oldy fashiony like open doors etc for her, tell her she looks fantastic, compliment her etc, she will be like putty in your hands, also, be a bit coy when you take her home, a few small kisses only, keep her hungry for more!! This is only if you want her long term etc, if you only fancy a one night stand I feel sorry for her, somehow, I get the impression you actually do like her,.
