First thing you can do is to find a local rink or skating club. You can find them at http://www.usfsa.org/

There are two types of competitions:
- Recreational (ISI)
- USFSA ( path toward national and olympics)

You can buy a good used skates for a start, and as she is progressing, get her the better model boot and blades.

Good luck for you and your daughter.

You'll have to pay for lessons to start with. Be prepared that if this is the career she will choose, its very very expensive! If she is good then it will be recommended that she get a private coach. But it is highly unlikely that she will at such an older age but not entirely impossible as they start around five years old in order to learn all the spins and jumps. I wouldn't buy a brand new pair of skates until you are sure she wants to do this for a very long time, they are very expensive like around one hundred and fifty dollars. She may take a disliking to falling flat on her butt all the time when learning and also take a disliking to being told go and do it again until you do get it right. It takes alot of determination before a skater ever can think of being professional one day.

She would be getting a late start at figure skating at 14. How about hockey or speed-skating?

in accordance to ice cream intake figures, the right 5 man or woman flavors in words of percentage of section contained in the united states are: vanilla (26%), chocolate (12.9%) neapolitan (4.8%) strawberry (4.3%) cookies n' cream (4.0%) and that i love chocolate icecream from the constrained selections given. If there have been different selections i'd have chosen another flavour. even with the undeniable fact that, in maximum familiar eating places the alternative you're given are very constrained and it may be the three flavours you've given so i imagine you probably did good. There are too many flavours and variations (like personalities) so the three ordinary classic ones are a good concept. even with the undeniable fact that, the chocolate personality did not tournament mine. i'm not reserved, very chatty, open, pleasant, outgoing, certain, love artwork, not particular about Indie Rock.
