I realized that the best way to handle a bad day is to accept what happened; learn from it and move on. To dwell on a bad situation doesn't solve anything. To lash out at someone (the boss, client, etc) only makes it worse. Trust me, I've gone down that route. It's not pretty.
When the day is done, do something that only YOU enjoy--as long you don't hurt yourself or anyone else.
When you go back to work, you'll be right as rain.

Realize you are not alone. Everyone has a bad day at work from time to time. The best thing to do is try to not take things to heart if something personal happened. If something else happened, try to just put it behind you and do your best.

I look really busy, like people should not bother me, and then I answer questions on Yahoo.

Also when it is finally time to go - go have a beer with some friends.

Works for me.
