Could be, but mighty cold and dark six foot down, and there is no return trip if you dont like it.

How do you know that you will rest when you die? There is a tribe somewhere (I think New Guinea) that believe that their dreams are their real lives...something for you to ponder. Instead of live and destroy, how about live and enjoy? Sometimes life is hard and it amounts to mere survival. I do think you should get counseling, at the very least it might give you a different perspective on events that are happening in your life. Good Luck!

Life and death, though they are very much related to each other, are both extremities with nothing in between. If you want to die, it's very hard to like life. But probably you don't like life and therefore want to die. If you'd be able to start liking life, you may loose your wish to die. I don't know your situation and why you don't want to live anymore, so I can't go into this much, but most people like you can get help. Not to die, but to live a nice life. To find a goal in life can help much. Some people "find" god or another spiritual way of living to find their goal. I don't like imaginary friends myself, so what I can best advise to get help from a doctor or psychiatrist. Many times they really are capable of helping to get "lost" lives back on track by all kinds of therapies and medication (as long as you give them your cooperation). Once you have ended your life, there's no way back and you should think of the people close to you first. It is very hard to come to terms with the fact a family member or friend has taken his or her own life. So please try all other solutions first before making the final decision. Good luck and keep thinking.

When you die, you will lose your body but not your problems. You will stay at the scenery of your own death, but in spirit. You will be forced to see the consequences of your deeds and see the hurt you have caused. Don't see it as a way out because you will have to start all over again in a next life and then it will be even harder. Try to face your problems bit by bit until the sun may start shining one day. That's what life is all about, dealing with problems and gaining experience and knowledge in order to become wise.

If you're here and not out somewhere actually dying, it means you want attention of some kind.

Maybe you just want a shoulder to cry on. Maybe you don't and really need an answer.

But one thing is certain. You aren't killing yourself - yet.

You won't get the answers you need on a BBS like this one. Go to this site and look around for the help you need. There are phone numbers, email options, and links to sites closer to you.

http://www.samaritans.org/

If you don't actually try to get help with real people who know what the hell they're talking about, you might as well not ask.

FOLLOW-UP:

I notice that you already have a threat of eternal agony from a Christian. Try not to be dissuaded by such cruelty.

This is why a BBS like this is not the best place to get the help you need. Too many crazies who think that the best way to help someone who's sick is to threaten them with torture if they don't get better.

FOLLOW-UP:

I see another threat of eternal torture by a cruel dogmatist, and many more philosophical debates about the value of life.

None of that works. Talk to someone face-to-face who knows how to work with suicidal people. They're the only ones who can help you. This BBS is full of religious zealots and armchair philosophers who think they know the meaning of life.

GO TO THIS WEBSITE. GET SOME REAL HELP YOU CAN USE, NOT THE HALLMARK CARD PHILOSOPHIES AND THREATS OF HELLFIRE THAT YOU SEE ON THIS BBS.

Rethink how did you enjoy your life. Did you use all the good things in the world. Have you traveled around the world? Have you seen other places than your home? Are you in love? Have you experience a true love?
I think you have a lot things to do and see, and you don't need to die.
It is sad that people who live quite a good life want to die, while people in Africa (who are hungry, poor) want to live and they are struggling to live better life.

If you die you can never return.

You will hurt a lot of people - who care about you. You will change their lives forever, too....

Whatever is bothering you now, will not necessarily always be there.

Die now and you will never experience true lasting love- you will not get to have that perfect life of your dreams... or experience everything you have wanted to.

Die now and you won't get to prove all those people who look down on you wrong! You will not get to show them they were wrong about you.

Die now, and you will never get to say "I made it, I'm still here"

Until God chooses to take you, you have no choice. To kill yourself would be to doom yourself to a fate worse than death. There would be no rest in that. That's not a threat, it's just the truth. I know that because I have been there. I know it stinks, but, unfortunately, we are not in control of such things. There are many times when I have just wanted to get out, but you have to consider the consequences of your actions. My cousin committed suicide and he didn't just take his life that day. He took a piece of all of us who loved him with him. I hope for God's mercy, but again, I am not in control of such things.

I assume you are in pain, offer it up to God for the salvation of all human beings, for peace in the world and for your family. I know that sounds trite and doesn't really help. I will pray that God will give you a reason to live! Give your life to Jesus Christ and ask him to make something wonderful out of what now probably just seems like a mess. Never give up. Get some help! There is always help!

This site isn't the place to get help. Call the suicide prevention hot-line, or call the boys and girls town hot-line. Call a friend or family member. Just get some real help and don't give up.

Well, it's only you who can give the reasons. Think well! Think of a goal in life as your motivation to live! That life is not yours, so while you have it, enjoy it and make the best out of it! For that you will gain fruitful second life.
