Over the past weekend, there was an illegal immigration protest in Maywood California (near Los Angeles) where 500+ protesters marched in the streets, to the point they had to block city traffic and shut streets down. They held up signs that read stuff like "THIS IS OUR CONTINENT, NOT YOURS" while waving mexican flags...they even stormed thru and took down a US flag from the post office flag pole and hoisted up a mexican flag....

the interesting part about this all is that it was not covered by news medias...luckily SaveOurState.org took pictures to post, you can see them here: http://www.saveourstate.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=15542&hl=

..notice in the pics how ABC 7 News vans were there, yet if you search their site, there was never any news story on this event.

Do you think this is newsworthy? Yes or No?
If you answer NO, then would your answer change if the protesters were Iranian or Syrian and raised those country flags after taking down US flag??

Neither. It's all about power and money.

Yes, there are card-carrying racists on both sides, and the media usually focuses on their individual activities.

But the real movers are in it for power and money. If the winning side can make it seem economically and/or politically advantageous to have the illegals here, then we'll have illegals here. Otherwise, we won't.

The racists and protestors for both sides may believe that they're fulfilling a destiny of some sort, but they're just pawns being led around by the nose.

Absolutely it's news worthy. Unfortunately, our news is run by people that hate the way America is today, and tend to leave out anything that doesn't fit their agenda. It's amazing how much news coverage the minutemen have gotten when they're just trying to secure their own backyard.

I live in Texas. Most Texas Hispanics are as incensed at this sort of garbage as you (and I) are. Some here are militants, but not that many.

I say show 'em whose continent this is. Send them back to their own part of it.

I am the grandson of four immigrants, two German and two Polish. I am in favor of legal immigration. But these people are making me madder than hell.
