Classical lovers are easily labeled as snobs but I love classical music except anything by Mozart in a major key as I feel his music, while exquisitely crafted, lacks emotional range.

I think classical music is the best music as it has withstood the trials of time and come out on top, whereas most modern music has yet to do so, and some artistes have already faded into oblivion.

Also, one famous piece of laboratory work involved putting speakers next to plants, one playing classical music and another playing acid rock. The plants grew towards the speaker which played classical music and away from the one playing acid rock.

EDIT: Previously didn't answer the question. My all-time favourite composer has to be Beethoven. I have many favourite pieces by him, but I think all time favourites should be Symphonies no 6 'Pastoral', 7 and 8 with 7 being the one I like the most, Piano Concerto no 5, and Sonata op 27/2 'Moonlight', 3rd mvt being my fave mvt. I don't really like Symphony no 5, though it -is- a great work

Hey Mr.Nice Guy, I have been wanting to ask this question. Anyway I like Western Classical music. Long time back in 1982 I saw a cartoon show called The History of Man and the intro music was Tocata and Fuge of Bach. Since then I was hooked. By chance my cell phone had the same ring tone. My favourite piece is Tocata and Fuge D Minor played by Vanessa Mae. I like other pieces too.

I surely have puzzled the comparable element. how many might answer as derisively IN guy or woman? hassle-free to sling insults by a reveal screen. If the question is so exasperating, why answer??? in case you elect for to set somebody at as quickly as on what's and isn't any longer classical or acceptable somebody on what's a music and what's a symphony, then accomplish that civilly. once I first began listening to classical music countless years in the past, i did no longer comprehend the version between a symphony and a sonata or a concerto and an overture. I went for months with purely the 1st circulation of Beethoven's Violin Concerto. i did no longer comprehend there grow to be greater to it than one circulation. I in simple terms have not had an training in classical music. you could actually genuinely get carry of a harsh training in classical music from many that've had the educational, yet I surely have discovered that there are a number of knowledgeable idiots in this talk board.

I love classical music. However, for me, it is Baroque music that is the epitome of grace and beauty. When you listen to classical music long enough, the distinctions between the Baroque, the Classicism, the Neo-Classicism, and the Romanticism become so clear. Baroque music favors a much smaller orchestra that consists mostly of strings, some winds, a harp, and a harpsichord. I love the sound of a harpsichord, the instrument that is widely used in Baroque music. Second, the melody is very complex that features embellishments like trills. Third, I love the idea of men singing in a very high range (countertenors), their refined falsettos are like Apollo's gifts to Earth. My favorite composers are Bach, whom I enjoy playing on the piano, and Handel, who's operatic arias I love to listen to. I'm listening to one right now... The first time I heard Handel's "Al lampo del armi" by David Daniels, I became so infatuated... And did I mention this music is absolutely breathtakingly beautiful?

Sure, but I was lucky to be raised in a home where many types of music were played, and am open to most music genres. I particularly like anything by Bach or Mozart. Sometime it really suits the atmosphere or my mood.
