Don't worry about what you look like,it is easy to dress up nice and have everyone think you are nice person. Remember this however. The worlds greatest conmen wear the world's most expensive suits. We had a prime minister who had suits from Italy worth $2000. That did not make him a better or even a good prime minister. All he was, was an a** h*** in a nice suit.
My advice to you is become the best person you can be. Be good at your job and work at improving and maintaining your interpersonal relationships around the office. Then go buy a nice suit. Remember "A nice suit does not a nice man make"
good luck Johnno

Don't look for the superficial aspect of a job. Instead, discover what you enjoy doing and try to make a career of it. If it leads to a job with a suit and an office, then you killed two birds with one stone. But, if you just want a job wearing a nice suit and going to an office, you'll be hit with reality. Trust me, REALITY BITES!
