Yes. I have heard of an imp. I only had met him the one time. Even though he said he'd seee me again, "In due time," it's been seventeen years.

I was eight, I was visiting the doctor's office. My family and I were vacationing in Colorado so it was the first and only time i had visited this particular doctors office. I had an allegic reaction to some hair gel that I hate eaten earlier that day. It was a dreary, drafty old office. Kinda shabby, too. The waiting room looked bleak and miserable. The staff were still cheerful to me. I specifically remember that doctor's office. Another lady had a small boy my age, he was staring at the ground his hair hanging out of his red cap and over his face. He was reading a book. Dr Suess' Green Eggs and Ham, an appropriate book for such an event. Ham and Eggs always seemed soothing when you were sick or had an allegic reaction. The boy looked up to me and grinned. I was stunned for a moment because when I was chatting with him about the book he was reading, I had not noticed his deformity. He was hideous. There was a green pus oozing off his forehead into his eyebrow and dripping off his nose. His skin was a dark green in patches around his face. And just then I knew, this was an imp, or at least he would grow up to be one. The doctors had told him it was only going to get worse with age. That he would get older and older and get hideouser and more hideouser and more impish and more impish. Man that's cool. I can't wait to see him again. He said he would come over and play Legos with me. Well, we're far too old for that now, but maybe we could have a beer. Me and an imp.

An imp is a mythological being similar to a fairy, frequently described in folklore and superstition.

Imps are usually described as mischievous more than seriously threatening, and as lesser beings rather than more important supernatural beings. The attendants of the devil are sometimes described as imps. They are usually described as lively and having small stature. They are usually, but not invariably, assigned male gender.

The Ancient Greek demi-god Pan has some features in common with an imp.

Of course i have found an imp in the computer game "Doom".
