In a more extreme form of joint custody called Bird Nesting, instead of the parents having Joint Custody, the child has it of the parents. Ted Nugent did this with his children. The children remain in one home, while each parent lives there for 2-4 weeks, than they switch. They rent a room, live with parents, or make other arrangements for the down time. In many of the cases I've seen the parents rent a two-bedroom apartment, with each having their own locked room.

The parents are restricted from having any more children, until the first are grown, having a live-in or overnight guest with whom they are sexually involved. They split all the costs of the children's home with some variances based on utility usage.

This does mean the parents have to be very cooperative, but it means they are equally inconvenienced. The children don't get moved around. They keep their own rooms, friends, school, etc. I've seen maybe 100 such cases, with only one not working.

I would be interested to find out more about this arraignment. Sounds like a very good idea but I can see problems with this type of arraignment if the parents aren't the cooperative type. But I can see the benefits of such an arraignment in favor of the children. I guess everything has it pro's and con's. I would have to say that this is something that is worth looking into more.

This sounds extremely complicated! Kids are very bright nowadays. They know their parents are divorced and although they may want the traditional family life, I think most kids would prefer their parents NOT be together if they dislike one another. Adults need to be adults and just be honest with the kids and tell them what the deal is. Children having custody of the parents is just plan ridiculous. We give children way too much power and control. They are not adults, they are CHILDREN! That is why the world is out of control, everyones trying to make sure the child is treated with more consideration than the parents. True divorce is hard on kids but it is hard on everyone and it is a fact of life.

There would be no way in hell this would work for me and my ex.
That would mean there would be 3 residences. One for the kids, one for each parent to live while the other isn't present.
You may as well stay married if you're all going to live in the same house.
If you can afford it, you'd have to get a huge house...
this is not reasonable for the average salaried people.

it sounds like the best arrangement for the kids. but it would not work in cases where there is a step parent involved. It is always the children who suffer the most.

That is absolutely ridiculous!! So basically the parents-even though they are divorced-are not allowed to move on with their lives and be HAPPY? not allowed to have CHILDREN?? what the F**K. that is so ridiculous. yes divorce is hard. but that is an absolutely outrageous thinng to order of PEOPLE WHO ARE NO LONGER TOGETHER. that's practically forcing them to stay married!!

Every circumstance differs. For me, I decided many years ago that I did not want my daughters liaising with, or, having any relations with their father. He wasn't bad, but he was completely irresponsible. As a result, my daughters have grown up to be educated, caring and law abiding citizens'. I wonder what they would have turned out like if they had of had their fathers influence.

It depends on the parents. If that is a sacrifice you are willing to make, and you and your ex agree on it I don't see why not. Log as you are a clean person, I don't say why a women would say no.

If we prayed, as human beings I mean, lon time ago and the prayer stayed in our hearts all time...life could be something else.
Poor children!
Poor parents!
We do not God's will, we do our will or the evil's will.Help us God!
