Is Iran's Supreme Leader Sayyid Ali Khamenei going to establish a Shiite caliphate from Iran to Lebanon?

There is a greater likelihood of Sayyid Khamenei becoming Caliph Khamenei, than America effecting a coup d'etat in Iran like it did in 1952.

Hard to say, now that The Hez have successfully tested Iran's short range missiles.

Note that The Hez didn't test long range missiles or heavier payloads. That probably means there's no way to deliver long-range nukes yet.

BUT - the Iranians COULD deliver short-range payloads and tacticle nukes if ground troops were used.

My guess is that if we attack Iran, we'll do it using long-range missiles and cruise missiles first (to knock out their AA capability and aircraft), then by air.

All this means that we could if we wanted to. Wether or not we will may remain moot until after Iran meets us at the bargaining table. At the moment, that's all this posturing on both sides is - even the tragic fighting in Lebanon - just piles of chips on a bargaining table.

As long as the present regimes in both countries stay in power, that's about all our lives are worth.

The US will not overtly incite regime change in Iran. Israel will be left with little choice but take care of that on her own.

The UN will not be successful in imposing real sanctions on Iran, so Iran will continue to develop her nuclear technology. Israel will become increasingly uneasy and, with the backroom sanction of the EU and the US, will conduct another surgical strike to eliminate Iran's uranium enrichment capability.

Lebanon and Syria will unveal the WMD's that have been kept under wraps until now and Israel will find herself in another all out war in the Middle East. The USA will be in the midst of one of the fearciest political battles during the 2008 Presidential election cycle and Europe will wait loudly on the sidelines while the US mobilizes the world to war, again.

China will seize the chaos to solidify her influence in the world, increasing her economic demands on the world and its "neutral" position in the Middle East will allow China to dominate global politics for the foreseeable future.

The only opportunity to stop that train, has passed. Had Israel re-occupied Southern Lebanon, it would have disproven Iran's theory that Israel is no longer strong enough to survive in the Middle East; a theory that Iran has put to the test with the help of Hezbollah's kidnapping of two Israeli soldiers. By too quickly acquiecing to the International demand for a cease fire, Israel has permitted Iran to miscalculate Israel's will to survive, a miscalculation Israel will be in a rush to recalibrate.

The nationalist attitude in Israel will continue to swell until all other considerations become secondary. And once Israel goes to war, the US must follow. To war with Iran will follow Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and a host of other chaotic regimes.

Egypt will be torn in two but will not be able to stay out of the war exploding on her borders.
Iraq will crumble into chaos held together only by the shear investment of the US to maintain Iraq as a strategic staging point for the war.

At some point, a nuclear weapon will be used, probably by Iran, maybe by Israel, and then the whole world will have to pick sides. To which ever side China chooses goes the victory.

Yes America would love to see regime change in your country...Buts that's not likely to happen so America will continue to pressure the UN for resolutions that will ultimately lead to a war in Iraq. The long term goal is for the oil company's to have a unifying political force behind all the puppet governments in the Mideast...Iraq is the only real challenge left

Change the regime... NO

Bomb them, I hope so. We need to teach them a lesson, but why bother going in and occupying another nation. Screw that. Lets bomb them into the stone age. They have to learn how to be a member of the global community.

May sound harsh but I am tired of them, and their attitude toward western society.

It's called Finlandization, where the regime changes all its policies just to please USA, and thinks of its own interest after that.
