I have recently had a lot of trouble with swimming goggles that cause me pain with with extended use.

My first pair were the quite cheap. They would start to hurt after 45mins or so, but they were ok. They let in some water.

The next pair I bought were a bit more expensive. They didn't let in water and initially felt good. However, after a while, my eyes would heat up quite alarmingly. After 20mins, the pain (both from the heat, and the pain from the pressure on my eye sockets) was worse than my original pair.

Anyone experienced similar problems/found a solution?

I have experienced the first problem, but not the second.

I personally prefer the Speedo CGCs, they don't let in water until you wear them down and they have a spongy substance around the eyes to lessen the pain.

they run about 12-15 dollars and you can find them at your local sporting goods store! =]

When you go buy the goggles, go to a SWIM store and open the packages. Try stuff on. Asking about good goggles is like asking about shoes. Everyone's face and eye area is different, so you really need to try the goggles on. Open the package, press the goggles against your eyes and see if they stick without putting on the strap. The goggle should stick for at least a few seconds due to vacuum and not fall off. Then, try them with the strap. See if they are comfortable. THEN buy 2 pairs. THEN remember which brand AND which model fit your face and always use those.

Eye socket size is different, preferences are different...experiment around...but once you find a goggle you like, stick with it!

i'd advise Swedish Goggles. inspite of the certainty that the are fairly low priced, the are utilized with the help of distinctive Olympians. besides, they have not got any padding yet after wearing them once or twice the are so delicate. additionally in case you shrink off area of the strap and feed it contained in direction of the holes and use it as a nostril piece, you may't even enable you recognize've a nostril piece. wish this helps!

personally i prefer sweeds as long as you dont make them too tight then they are very comfortable and will not leak at all. Most of the competitive swimmers use these for practice. If you are concerned at all about color they come in many different colors as well check out swimoutlet.com for more info
