They just want to ask questions about how much they hate neocons, but don't offer ANY solutions for ANY of the problems in our country (welfare, the deficit, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan...). And then their BLOGS, OMG, all about how much they hate neocons, and how much Bush sucks, and how if everyone just votes Democrat the world will suddenly be a better place. Yay, no more world hunger! No more third-world countries, or hurricanes!
Democrats, don't these people put your party to shame? I know they don't speak for ALL of you. There are many decent liberals and Democrats on this site. I see you guys. *Smile*
Republicans, don't these people make you feel REALLY smart?
Americans, don't those people make you wish that the truth would come out that they're not American at all?
Independents, don't they make you feel glad that you're not associated with EITHER party?
NO political party has all the answers. The power is in the hands of the people, not the party!

Eggman has a good point. I don't like the facts I've heard about the neocons either. However, I don't think it's right to accuse every conservative of being a neocon (not that that's what Eggman is doing, I'm speaking of those OTHER people), which is what many people do.
Neocons are NOT conservatives.

I don't think the people I asked this question about liked it very much. Oh, *sniff*, it's the end of the world, I'm going to go sit in a corner and cry.
I live to make them angry. Or perhaps making them angry brings meaning to my life? LOL.

Wow, you guys, lots of great answers here. I'm hard-pressed to choose someone as best answer. It's going to be very difficult. I think yet again, I'm going to have to go "eeny-meeny-miney-mo".
Thank you, to everyone. Excellent!

"NO political party has all the answers. The power is in the hands of the people, not the party!"

Theoretically.. that would be sooo Nice!
But in reality.. we have a 2 party gov't so you're either with one.. or the other.. the power just flips back and forth.. the balance changing every 4-8 years..
I think in a Perfect Democracy.. the people would Eliminate the middlemen altogether, No politicians, no lawmakers/legislators.. say we Vote on every single topic.. then the Public would have Ultimate control.. and just appoint someone to ensure the voted items are implemented/followed. actually.. that sounds a lot like communism.
I think America is quite unique.. in that being such a young country.. ~200 years.. we really do enjoy many freedoms, and laws have evolved very quickly to keep up with society.. heck only half a century ago blacks couldn't vote.. not long before that women couldn't vote.. so America really has come a long way in a short time.
I don't think any other country can say that..

Heres my opinion, for what it's worth. As long as the majority of folks continue voting for these two parties nothing of any significance is going to change. I think they are different sides of the same coin. In the past, a strong showing in a national election by a third party has caused the two majors to add a few planks to their platforms , or modify existing thought. For instance, there used to be a fairly strong socialist party in this country, but the democrats adopted so much of their platform. Same way with the american party that rose in the late 60s and 70s. The republicans picked them up after the election of '68. Ross Perot's run gave us the the balanced budget effort in the 90s. Real change, without an outright revolution, will have to come about in this country through grassroots efforts through independent parties and educated and informed voters. That's my opinion on the subject.

Well, coming to real, practical solutions is the answer. Being fair when you criticize others is important too. I think Kerry lost because he was not aggressive enough in stating solutions.

You're right, no one political party has all the answers and it would be better if we all worked together as intelligent people to solve our common problems. The problem is that the plan of the neocons is mostly about "How do we make ourselves richer and have more power over the masses?"
That and the fact that most people are petty bickering idiot sheep, but they can be dangerous in large groups and it doesn't take a genius to see the massive potential for disaster. People have imagined it for years... check out the book 1984 (George Orwell) and the Terry Gilliam film "Brazil". History is replete with tragic tales of people who let their governments get out of hand. I don't want America to be next.

Solutions are a two way street. But blaming the party in power and complaining about their policies will not win elections. Only new ideas. The reason the Democrats have done poorly is they have no platform of their own. Their only platform is to ***** about the republicans.

I don't like the republicans either.... But honestly I can't handle the whining anymore.

Very true. I split my vote in the last elections. I want better and more affordable education, better health insurance and affordable health care. I would like to see the deficit under control. Sound Democratic?
I also support the war and a strong military, I want lower taxes, and harsher sentencing for crime. I own my own firearms. I also want to be able to put a Nativity scene in my yard and call it Christmas without some idiot trying to sue me because it offends them. I find the ACLU offensive, can I sue them for being in public? Sound Republican?
Yes I'm glad to be an Independent!
