its a very interesting question I'd say. Lets take the religion. It is said that god created human according to his portrait. It means that the creator tries his creation to be similar to his looks/intelligence/whatever. At the same time, it is clear why people try to create intelligent machines - as they are looking for something what they are.
Now lets say that the nature itself is creating machines with superb intelligence, as you said. Then people, taking the role of nature, are also working on creating another human like machines, cloning humans into artificial intelligences and vice versa.
Overall, the people, either machines or humans, have an urge to create, and this creation is obviously inherited by their creator, doesnt matter who or what was he/it.

Your supposition is incorrect. Man, human beings, are not machines. The machine is the temporary body. The body is a vehicle only and the driver is the eternal spirit soul. When the body is no longer viable, the driver must find a new body. Very simple.

I guess, if you consider the statement 'Man invented machines' to be true.
What if the statement was cyclic, lol... (If God was a machine, was it a man who invented the machine who invented machines who invented machines... Is there such a thing as ultragod?)

Man is no machine. We have feelings, emotions and feel pain. Belive me these are what separates us from machines.
