Because the reason most ppl ban a book is because of moral value what they have come to know as right and wrong, but what they dont know is the enternal meaning of a so called wrong book because they are so close minded that they wont even bother to read it, they would much rather sit and critisize others works because of there moral value

Because... They are not sure about them self, and they are easy to be influenced, and think that the rest of people are the same way, but wouldn't admit this for a world.

There is quote from "The Damned Yard" by Ivo Andrić
"Be afraid of man that didn't read not even one book. But be more afraid of the man that have red only one."

And I had most wonderful professor of the Literature, she usually said: "How can you criticize something that you don't know? You can criticize only the books that you have red." and "Form each book, no matter how much you don't like it, you can learn something"

I've read several of the responses and I agree so I won't repeat them but I will add this. People who try to ban books don't realize that they are just bringing more attention to those particular books. That's the surest way of getting everyone to want to read it because we all know that everyone wants what they're told they can't have.

People would rather be critical than read something they would enjoy. I agree with you unless someone wrote a book about me and 85% of everything this person wrote was either a lie or something negative.

Because they are rons. If they don't have something to compain about, they invent it. For instance, look at the Da Vinci Code, it is a work of fiction, but these rons continually treat the book as fact. One thing we don't need in this world is any mo' rons.

We have these self appointed Moral police who live in mediveal times and they want to impose their views on morality on the others. They refuse to think modern or appreciate that we can decide for ourselves what we want to do. They do not realise that stopping or banning somethings add to the crime and law and order.

Depends. Some think they are the moral guardins of the nation, so they poke their nose whether people like you take it or not. Seen Margaret in Dennis the menace?they are like her.
