Having a tattoo doesn't make a woman any less of a mother. People have trouble thinking outside of the box. If you don't understand it, then you automatically deem it 'trashy' or what-not. In this world, there's a lot of diverse people. There's different cultures, races, ethnicities, genders, etc. This isn't news to anyone.
There are people with all different tastes too. I'm not going to look at a woman who is 50 pounds overweight and assume she is a bad mother b/c of her choice of lifestyle. I'm not going to look at a woman who is wearing stilettos and think she is a bad mom b/c she must be a hooch. C'mon now! This is ridiculous. It's okay for people to like different things and have different tastes. Many people think tattoos are a beautiful part of the art world, and most people who have tattoos are very deep people, and their tattoos have a symbolic meaning. It's a huge commitment to something on your body for the rest of your life.
I have two tattoos, and I also have two very happy children. I take them to the park and go down the slide with them. I dress up at Halloween with them, and make mud pies with them. I play hide-and-seek and ball and all those other things. Having a piece of artwork on my body does not make me a trashy or bad mother. Get real.

If the tattoos are well done and tasteful (I.E. - not cliche crap that everyone has nowadays, or genitalia tattooed on themself), I think they're interesting. If I had any nerve at all, I would probably compliment them and ask what the tattoos meant to them. Generally, tattoos only look trashy if the person overall looks trashy. There are a couple of tattoos I'd love to have, if a decent tattoo parlour ever opens around here.

Depends. Tasteful, artistic tattoos are one thing. I guess our notions of what or how a mother should look have not changed much over the years. For the most part, I say let her actions and behavior speak for her. I've got better things to do than judge a mom with a little ink under her skin.

Its a bit of a sensitive issue. Personally, I have no problem with Tatoos - IN MODERATION. I don't have any but my hubby has the most beautiful tattoo on his upper arm. I am a mother and I think that if you have a tattoo, it must be for yourself and not for anybody else. I wouldn't have it out in the open, in everybody's face. A nice descreet tattoo is the best if you have to have one.

I love tatoos on other people, but not on myself. My mum is covered in tatoos and it doesn't make her any less of a mother. She is a high level manager for Customs & Excise (in the UK), she has a degree and is anything but trashy, because she see tatoos as art, not as mutilation. I think it's wrong to judge someone based on appearance anyway.

I have tattoo's and plan to be a mother some day. As long as they are tasteful and you would be proud to show anyone, go for it.

I wonder when they got them, what they are, what their significance is, why they got them...I don't form an opinion of them, I just find the tattoos interesting.

I personally don't like tattoos. I think most of them will regret getting them later in life and it's something you're stuck with. People should give it a lot of thought before they do that.

I think they are trashy but they seem to be more acceptable these days.
