Probably because they're not altering themselves physically. They accept who they are, unlike a transgender.

To this day many people are not coll with gay, bi, or lesbian. Because I am one and I get accusations about it. Transgendered people in my eyes are confused, I can't see why they can't just be theirselves. Being a male and being feminine is one thing but trying to become a woman is just weird

How are the first three cool? (I don't mean that negatively)
I am gay, but I wouldn't consider it as being cool. I am proud of it, and accept it as part of who I am, but it's not like a popularity contest, and being gay gives you extra points.
At least, not in my experience.
It is true that transgendered people can find it harder than gay or lesbian people to find their place in society because of more predjudice and less understanding. The same can be said for bisexual people too though, who also have trouble finding acceptance, even among other gay and lesbian people.
I personally wouldn't consider any of these things "cool" but I would consider it "cool" for someone to know who they are and accept it as part of themselves, and to be able to stand up to defend it in the face of predjudice and bigotry.

Because people are scared of what's different, and gay/lesiban and bisexual relationships are far more open and common today than ever before. Most transgendered people try to keep this fact as secret as possible from anyone, so it is less widely acceptable.

I don't think a sexual orientation or identity can be cool or uncool. You are who you are, and people should just accept that.
