a KFC McDonalds for vending fast food, a Western Union for transferring money, a Avis for renting vehicles, a Pantaloons but no Internet Cafe Chain? And why should all the worldwide retail stores be American? Does anybody have any other choice except for American-owned retail store chains?

Because they want to expand... What company do you think doesnt want to be huge as windows? Anyway, about the other question, americans know how to market their product thats why they have many retail stores. Franchising is one of them, you just buy their LABEL and you owned a store (e.g. McDonalds).
