different batttery types (ni-cad ,li-ion, ni-mh and lead acid for example) have different charging requirements some need current and voltage regulation cycles and others not so the answer is no you cant use a ni cad charger for all types.Ni cad batteries are charged at 10% of their current rating.

I assume that the end of your question denotes a battery size. The output a carger puts out does not limit the battery size it will charge. It does affect the amount of time to charge a battery, longer for higher amp rated batterys. Old timers told me the slow charge is better for your battery, however alternaters in your car which are also chargers apparently do a fast charge so that may nolonger be true.

On the charger (usually on the back side) you will find the ratings for what it is capable of.
