Me and my hubby have been Happily Married for the past 12 years and once a week we go on date night and alternate who plans it. Money's never an issue cuz some of our best dates where when we were broke and did alot of things that didnt cost anything.

Yes, sort of. We go to the movies and to restaurants mainly. The fun of dates when we were dating was actually the fact that we lived apart so picking her up was cool because I may not have seen her for a few days and she often had some new look or something I hadn't seen before. Then, after the date, not knowing whose apartment we were going to was nice. My apartment felt totally different when she was there and her's apartment was more comfortable than mine. Plus, we always had sex after those dates. So that was way more exciting. Being married and going on dates is satisfying in different ways. However, the weight of married life/grown up life is a heaviness that can often hang over our dates unfortunately via the conversation to and from the date.

Of course you do. My wife and i have been married 17 years now and i still met her after work sometimes and take out for a meal or something, which is always a nice surprise. Even just cooking a nice meal for her, so she doesn't have to lift a finger when she gets home from work, this also goes down well. Then once she is nice and relaxed who knows what the night might have in-store.

my long term b/f and I do, we make time once a month (due to his work commitments as a chef it is hard for him to get nights off) and we have a "hot date". We try to alternate who decides where we go, unless one of us has a great idea that cannot wait (like a theatre show that will be ending soon for example) but usually we go for dinner, or a movie or show, or sometimes just for champagne and oysters. Sometimes when we are really broke we light loads of candles and play music at home.

That sounds so sweet. I think that's a great idea, if only more couples were like you we'd be living in a better world.
Most couples stop doing things together after a couple of years - 12 years! Congratulations and wishing you another wonderful 12.

Oh yea. Nothing like a night out with the spouse. Shes my best friend, my lover, my wife. We too have made our way thru 12 years of marriage. Dating your spouse keeps the marriage alive.

I've been married for 5 years and yes we occasionally still go on dates. First we have to find a baby sitter though. Usually for us, we plan the evening together.

You bet. Nothing like a date to keep the romance in a relationship. Even if it's just going for a walk, ride or a cup o' coffee... that time together is a special thing!

I'm with you on this one!

Me and my hubby try to go out every sat night. Sometimes we just go to the liquor store for a bottle of wine and watch movies at home. It gives us time to be a couple and not parents for a night.
