I guess your question is about race - why are there different races in the world? I would like to tell you that I'm not using this term from a discriminating point of view, but from a scientific one...the concept of race as such has evolved as civilization progressed, and what we know of evolution now explains this fact clearly and logically.

We (modern humans) are said to have evolved from a a small primitive species consisting of a population of 200 or so. Don't know the exact name of the species though, but these species are said to have survived an era where the earth was at it peak geological activity known as the "giant squeeze". This small population increased and migrated to various parts of the primitive earth. The population would split from time to time and migrate to different parts of the earth - and the earth also did undergo geological changes!

The local food, geography, climate, etc all influenced their evolution. And over time this took effect. All these groups started civilizing - forming agrarian societies and so on. So what these groups did was mingled among these groups. And that over the span of millions of years is probably the reason why we have people in different countries looking different.

Of course, you might want to ask the question of what is happening these days...inter-cultural marriages. Probably this is also an aspect of our global civilization today. Although such events may be small in number, but they are happening. This is not something new to human civilization. It happened from, I guess, when civilizations became...but their frequency was quite less compared to taday. We'll just have to wait and see what happens...

If you really want to get the feel of this gradual change, try figuring out why Chinese people have a facial feature that is unique - the small eyes! I once guessed it was probably their diet which mainly consisted of rice, but I don't think thats all; theres more to it.

Long story, but it has to do with evolution.
When a group of people live isolated from all other humans, over time (a long, long time!) they will evolve differently, among other things under the influence of the environment.
In modern times it is the other way around. Because today all human groups is more and more in contact with the rest of humanity, a lot of genetic mixing is going on and this will eventually lead to a "standard" type of race. A good example is Latin-America, where white, black, native American and other smaller groups have mixed for centuries and where the Latino "race" has come into being. Think Shakira. Think Jay-lo.

Climate has a lot to do with how different populations of humans changed. For example, anywhere people live close to the equator they have very dark, almost black, skin (Africa, India, Australia, etc.). Climate can also affect the diet people will eat whic can also explain some skin color differences (why east Asians have a slight yellowish tinge to their skin vs. Europeans).

Evolution at work. You can get separate evolution any time you have a separation of populations; the separate populations, since they don't interbreed, will evolve separately. This is perhaps the last significant evolutionary change that has occurred in H. sapiens; evidently, early folks dispersed a long time ago and went a long time thereafter without significant interaction. See the reference for more.

Environment, diet, chance and isolation all played a part in the 10's of thousands of years of human history. The whole animal kingdom developed this way

Genetic adaptation to their environment mixed with breeding within a confined population accounts for "racial disparity." I'll come back with an explanation after I'm done working...unless somebody else beats me to it...
