Let's face it, you grow old, I grow old, and heck, there's different definitions of "old". Like a child that's been on Earth and outside of his/her mother's baby for 2 months is considered to be 2 months "old", most younger generations think that 40 is being elderly, while some consider it the split-second you need adult diapers or have limited mobility as in feeling "old", or when you hit 65, "old" enough to retire, or 100 years "old", somewhat of an achievement.
As for the "clogging up the planet", just remember that we're all "old" one way or the other and there ain't a darned thing you can do about it. However, if it were up to me to do some "cleansing", I'd send every idiot on this planet (not the mentally disabled, mind you) into Darwinism and most people will agree with me, but I know, not all of you will agree with me, nor are you under any obligation to; it's a personal belief.
Cut me off on the freeway just because you're talking on your cell phone in one hand, balancing a soy latte in your right index/thumb the other while operating your stick shift with your palm and other 3 fingers (no hands on the wheel, just your knees)... I hope you wipe out a bus full of Ku Klux Klan members when you lose control of your car too... Bye. 19 year old, cliffhanging off a freeway underpass to represent your gangster "status" and fall into traffic and run over by an 18-wheeler... You deserved it for vandalizing and defacing the value of our houses, punk.

It's one of those 'age' old questions. Who do you define as old? Are we as a society 'cruel' in letting people live on long past the chance to have any quality of life? The short of it is euthanasia as some one earlier pointed out. However it will always be a difficult question as to what point we decide to euthanize some one and should there be age barriers? Also if we do decide to euthanize are we playing god? If so does that not make us murderers or at the very least 'big brother' determing who is 'useful' to society and who isn't? Should it extend further into other social groups in society? If so is not just a form of 'social cleansing'? This is the problem that in answering your question it opens up so many others, realistically is there ever a real solution to it? Unlikely.

LOL Bill.
A better question would be "What should be done about all these idiotic morons clogging up the planet?"
Remember, even if this is just a joke question, some day, if you live long enough, you too shall be an old person, clogging up the planet.
What a dufus.

Just wait thirty years and they'll all be dead, then when your 50+ you can introdue a termination programme for the over fifties....in your case I think you should have been terminated as a child.
